Our story: The Beginning
In 1999, Greentech began its journey with a singular project: building an innovative and energy-efficient house for a friend, secluded in the woods. This early endeavour, driven by a vision for sustainable and intelligent living spaces, presented unique challenges, particularly in integrating disparate systems to work seamlessly together. Intrigued by the possibilities of creating an environmentally conscious and technologically forward-thinking home, we actively pursued technological advancements in residential construction, even when there was scant demand for them. This initial project was a profound learning experience for us, laying the foundation for our construction approach. It taught us the importance of innovative thinking and the value of integrating technology with traditional building practices. Our early experiences have profoundly influenced our approach to every project since, guiding us in our journey towards specialising in constructing technologically loaded residential villas, restaurants and hotels.
The Journey. The vision.
The learning curve
The time between 1999 and 2004 was the learning curve. We built numerous private houses and restaurants while introducing our vision of integrating engineering systems like lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation, alarm systems and multiroom audio systems. The feedback from the clients at the time came back with tremendous scepticism, and for good reason: the technology was young, and engineers were in the learning phase of gathering knowledge and competence. This was when building materials and heating systems started to improve dramatically, allowing houses with more oversized windows to give more light into the rooms. Due to more natural lighting in the rooms, interior designers began to draw bold ideas. TV became bigger and bigger, and multiroom audio systems started making waves. Home cinema sets have become a new trend in every home.
Exponential growth
From 2005 to 2008, the residential housing boom poured money into the residential housing market, and the appetite for more sophisticated homes grew exponentially. The technologies made massive improvements towards stability and functionality. This was when every residential house we built had intelligent engineering solutions. Central control of most technical systems became a "must-on" for every residential house.
2007 was the milestone when we started serving our clients in various EU countries. The first client was in France, followed by Spain, etc. Greentech grew out of its home market, Estonia.
2009 was another important milestone; the projects outside the home market earned more than 70% of turnover, confirming that our vision is viable and has value in foreign markets.
Between 2010 and 2018, it was a time of dynamic growth in the construction sector, while green energy solutions started to add value to homes and businesses.
The strategy for creating an umbrella brand was ripe, and Greentech as a brand was born in 2018. The brand represents sustainable construction with strong technological engineering for technical systems was set in action.
In 2020, we entered the rapidly growing energy management field, offering PV panels, PV batteries, and electric car charging stations to meet the increasing demand for renewable energy sources.
Today, Greentech is a full-service construction company offering general construction services and almost every technical engineering system used in the buildings*.
Early in 2024, we established a separate business entity for the French market - Greentech Construction & Engineering was born.
This realisation of our vision establishes us as a brand capable of providing clients with a complete array of construction and technical engineering competencies under one roof.
*Some specialised engineering services, like building lifts, pools, etc., are outside our scope of services. Over the years, we have found a way to work with partners who value our vision, enabling us to integrate their systems into the building.
